Hi friends!

Wow, it's my 1st anniversary of "almost here" posts!

I'm going to divide this post into three parts: CRC stuff, goals for the fall, and a short devotional. <3

CRC STUFF:

I love to read modern, action-packed books, but I have to remind myself that it's also important to fill myself up with the older innocence and restfulness of the classics.

For those of you who are new here, CRC stands for Classic Reads Challenge, which is a fun "event" I created to encourage you to reread the classics! Last Spring, we reread The Secret Garden together, and this year we're going to read... well, you'll have to sign up to find out! 😉

You can sign up HERE!

GOALS FOR THE FALL:

  • Read God's word every day

  • Be committed and focused on schoolwork every week

  • Finish the math level I'm on to get caught up!

  • Post a blog post and send out a newsletter each month

  • Participate in the CRC (and preferably complete it!)

  • Complete phase 3 of the workouts I'm doing

  • Finish reading the non-fiction book and the fiction series I'm reading

What are your goals for Autumn? Comment them below!

A SHORT DEVOTIONAL:

The leaves changing color and falling off, school starting up again, the busy whirlwind once again. Change.

Oh, how we hate change! We don't like it when things change around us or when we change, inside or out. I have definitely been feeling this lately. I don't want to grow up and have responsibilities! I don't want to have to think about grown-up stuff like a career, money, guys, etc. I want to stay young forever!

For you, the change might be kids growing up and moving away, being the kid that's moving away, friends or family passing, more life being born...

Sounds an awful lot like autumn to me!

Is it possible that God made fall to show us that change can be beautiful? That, even though we may not like it at the time, we have to go through the change as we progress through life and draw closer to eternity?

If you think of change through an earthly perspective, it makes sense that we hate it when the things we love leave us. But if we turn our eyes and try to catch a glimpse of it through a heavenly perspective, our view of it changes entirely (pun intended)!

And do you think it's also possible that the Lord designed this season to point us to Him, who is unchangeable? We can be reminded that though everything around us changes and even we ourselves, change, the Lord is steadfast! He is the same yesterday, today, and forever! (Hebrews 13:8)

Just thinking about this brings a sense of calm to me. How about you? Do you have any more thoughts to add?

Love you all! 🥰
